District Infrastructure

The District has 17 buildings, all of which have fiber providing connections back to the Primary (Board Office) and backup Site (Shore Middle School). This is a hub and spoke architecture using a combination of Private and AT&T Leased fiber. NeoNet serves as the District’s ITC providing a 10Gb internet Connection. All buildings Core switches were upgraded Summer 2018 and access layer switches were upgraded summer 2019. All district buildings have Aruba Networks Wireless Access points that were upgraded during the summer of 2019 to the latest 802.11ax standard.

Cabling - As classrooms are being renovated at the elementary level we are upgrading the classroom projectors and replacing VGA cabling with HDMI.   During the 2021-2022 school year, all Kindergarten and 1st grade classrooms will also have new projectors and HDMI cabling installed.  All MS classrooms from 2017-2019 were completed with updated projectors and HDMI cabling while SMART Boards were removed and new whiteboards were added to each classroom.  As part of the Straight A grant the district received in 2015, all High School classrooms were renovated including new Classrooms Tv’s, Projectors and HDMI cabling.  In 2023-2024, English and SS classrooms will receive a new 65" TV (replacing one 47" TV) for projection.

Student Devices- The useful service life of a typical device is approximately four to six years. The District’s inventory of computers may turn over every five to six years. Kindergarten through third grade receive an iPad. Fourth grade through tenth grade receives a Chromebook. Students in 11th and 12th grade currently have a  MacBook.  MacBooks will continue to be phased out over the next two years (2024 / 2025)

Staff Devices- All certified teaching staff receive a MacBook and iPad. These devices are planned for replacement every 5 years. All support staff on PC desktops are planned for replacement every 5 years.
